Chamber Advocates for Genesee Avenue Overpass Improvements
On Friday, October 14th SANDAG unanimously supported directing funds to the I-5/Genesee Avenue interchange and widening project. These improvements are important to relieve traffic congestion for the many businesses in the Golden Triangle, Torrey Pines Mesa, Sorrento Mesa, Sorrento Valley and University City areas. Currently, a large volume of cars and trucks on Genesee Avenue cause delays in employee commutes and commercial deliveries.
The Chamber joined BIOCOM, BOMA San Diego, NAIOP San Diego, and Scripps Health in advocating for this important road project - a vital transportation artery for San Diego’s business community. The area has become one of our region’s major employment and activity centers which a variety of important industries including healthcare, biotechnology, medical device technologies, and retail establishments.
The Chamber will continue to advocate for improvements in the area as part of regional transportation infrastructure – particularly maintenance and repairs of local roads and business arteries.
