I am back in Washington D.C. today presenting at the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST) regarding our work on cybersecurity awareness for the San Diego
business community.
Cybersecurity is
critical in our global economy, and cybersecurity-related businesses are
becoming an important segment of San Diego’s innovation and technology cluster
-- creating high-quality jobs for our region. Working with Chamber member
business, ESET
and many others, we have developed the “Securing Our eCity” initiative to provide useful
information for San Diego businesses.
Another top
issue I am working on here in Washington D.C. is support for the military in
San Diego. The military accounts for more than 300,000 jobs and a $32 billion
economic impact in our region. Click here
to learn more about the joint effort by the San Diego business community to
support our important military assets.
I encourage
you to show your appreciation for our region’s military men and women by
participating in the Chamber’s Annual
Flag, General and Senior Officers Ball on July 27th.

Also, I urge
you to consider adding your voice to our efforts in our nation’s capital. Join
us for the Chamber’s “One
Region, One Voice Mission to Washington D.C.” on September 9-12th.

As always please send me your thoughts and suggestions at president@sdchamber.org.
