Seaport Village | Everything. Under the Sun.
Wrapped in history, Seaport Village is San Diego’s most unique and entertaining downtown destination. Tucked against the harbor and the bustling city, sun-soaked views captivate the eyes, exclusive shopping abounds, and bay-front restaurants offer a variety of international cuisine.
Four miles of meandering cobblestone pathways lead through ponds, fountains and colorful, lush landscaping incorporating a quarter-mile slate boardwalk along the San Diego Bay. Four quaint villages of Old Mexico, Victorian, Old West and Cape Cod design recreate a harbor-side setting of a century ago and include 54 one-of-a-kind shops, 13 casual dining eateries and four fine-dining waterfront restaurants. An 1895 carousel, hand-carved by Charles Loof, invites children and the young-at-heart to enjoy a taste of Seaport’s family entertainment.
Seaport Village compliments its outstanding views and landscape with an equally impressive line up of free outdoor entertainment year round. A monthly calendar features live musical entertainment from blues and jazz to country and swing. A talented cast of street performers and artisans create a festival atmosphere every weekend. Jugglers, caricaturists, dancers, acro-balancers, face painters, balloon sculptors and oriental brush artists complete the lineup.
This October, locals can celebrate Locals Appreciation Week as the village shops invite San Diegans to say goodbye to the end of the busy tourist season with great deals just for them. More than 20 Seaport Village shops and restaurants will be offering deals and events as a special ‘thank you’ from October 22-29. All deals will be listed at http://www.facebook.com/SeaportVillage starting October 10. Locals must show valid California ID or SDG&E bill to redeem the discounts and gifts.
New this year, Seaport Village will host the inaugural Halloween Bash on the Bay welcoming all the little monsters, vampires, pirates and zombies out to the village for live music, photos with a living scarecrow, a pet costume contest and more than enough treats to go around. Entertainment will abound from 3:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 29 and trick-or-treating will continue until 9 p.m. at nearly all of Seaport Village’s more than 50 shops and restaurants.
The bayside retreat celebrates the holidays in a unique San Diego style. Surfin’ Santa arrives on November 26 at 1 p.m. sporting board shorts and flip-flops. He’ll arrive on the San Diego bay via pirate ship for photos on his longboard and six-foot wave throughout the day. Kids crafts, live holiday music, great shopping and an LED holiday light exchange sponsored by SDG&E will complete the festive San Diego-style event.
For locals and visitors, Seaport’s shopping is a haven of one-of-a-kind gifts and memorable keepsakes. Fine restaurants with million-dollar views make Seaport a destination for celebrations while casual restaurants and to-go eateries create a resting point for downtown explorers. Seaport’s variety of shops and eateries encompasses a total of 14 stunning acres.
With 90,000 square feet of alluring shops, views and entertainment drawing crowds by the hundreds, Seaport Village is hard to miss and even harder to leave behind.
