2011 Dealmakers of the Year Business Breakfast
The Fermanian Business & Economic Institute (FBEI) at Point Loma Nazarene University will host their 2011 Dealmakers of the Year Business Breakfast at the San Diego Sheraton Hotel & Marina on Friday, September 30 from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. The Dealmakers of the Year are those individuals, firms, and collaborations that exemplify creativity, innovation, and ethical practices and create long term value for the region.
Past recipients in the individual category include Fr. Joe Carroll (2010), Dr. Harry Gruber (2009), Rear Admiral Len Hering (2008), and Mr. William Jones (2007). In the category of firm, AMSOLAR (2010), San Diego Zoo Global (2009), San Diego Renewable Energy Society (2008), and NTC Foundation/NTC Promenade (2007). Collaborative deal recipients have included High Tech High (2010), The Kumeyaay Wind II Project – Campo Indian Tribe (2009), Kilroy Realty Corp. (2008), and Market Creek Plaza (2007). The FBEI will also honor its annual Business Partner of the Year at the event.
This year’s featured speaker is Dr. James Bullard, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Dr. Bullard has most recently been in the news addressing issues on the financial crisis, regulatory reform, and quantitative easing. Last year, Dr. Bullard had the second greatest impact on financial markets (following only Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke) of all Federal Reserve officials, according to analysis by Macroeconomic Advisers. At the forefront of debate on U.S. monetary policy, Bullard will share his views on prospects for the U.S. economy and what policymakers can do to help.
